Rough skin before summer: what to do?

It's the same scene every year. The warmer weather is back, but as we emerge from the long winter months, our skin looks a bit gray. Rough, dry, and sometimes even flaky. In short, it's not quite ready to make its grand entrance into summer!

Before you panic or hide your legs under a sarong, take a deep breath. Rough skin is a sign, not a foregone conclusion. Here are our tips for regaining soft, supple, and glowing skin before summer.

1. Understand why your skin is rough

Before acting, we observe and, above all, we understand. Rough, grainy, or flaky skin is often a sign of slowed cell renewal . The result: dead cells accumulate on the surface, preventing skincare from penetrating and leaving skin feeling uneven.

Several factors can cause this grainy or dry appearance to the touch:

  • Lack of hydration

  • Too slow cell renewal

  • Accumulated dead skin residue

  • A skin barrier weakened by cold, friction or hard water

2. Exfoliate but with care
